“We rented the house for a brother’s weekend getaway. Steve was very accessible re: communication (access codes, how to use amenities on property, etc). The location is excellent, the property is well-maintained & well-stocked…kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, plenty of bedding, even fire starters & seasoned firewood for the outdoor fire pit are on-site. “We rented this home for a little family excursion while my son and daughter in law visited from Idaho. It is a beautiful place. We did not get to use the river or fire pit due to rain but it was beautiful there. The only thing I would have changed would have been the seating in the game room when stairs. There was not enough room for an of us to sit and play. Other than that we all had a wonderful time. ”

“Very cute cabin close to Sparta. Location was great. Despite other reviews my GPS found this place with no problem. Aside from low stock of paper goods (which really wasn't an issue as we got more in town) it was great. Yes floors are creaky. It’s an old house. It is part of the charm. “Upon arrival a few minutes before 4 PM, we were surprised to find the driveway completely covered in thick snow, despite the surrounding roads and other driveways being clear. With both an AWD and a 4x4 vehicle, we still struggled to get traction and ended up sliding down. Our family had to manually shovel and sand the driveway just to attempt access.To make matters worse, when some family tried to enter the cabin at check-in time, the entry code didn’t work. “Clean, bright, nicely redone old house just a couple of short blocks from "Main Street" (Jefferson Ave). No dishwasher or washing machine - which was no problem for us. Nicely outfitted kitchen with all the basics, plus a french press. Lots of old house character. Very nice to have a bedroom and daybed (in the sunroom) on the first floor. Upstairs bedrooms don't allow closet access and there's not really anywhere to hang clothing (fold-down hanger in one room would hold a few light items).……

“This property is very remote but there is a small town about 10 minutes away. Host is very nice. Unfortunately, during our stay, there was no wi-fi internet, no cell service and no land-line. So we were completely cut off from the outside world and we survived! Host was very apologetic about wi-fi that was cut out by Hurricane Helene and has not been able to be fixed, yet.
