“D'Villa, one of the two properties owned by the owner of this place, is a welcoming and pleasant mansion. Guests occupy the upper part of the house, on the first floor. The rooms equipped with private bathroom surround a communal area tastefully decorated where one can have a breakfast or get involved in conversations with other travelers. Tea is free ! “We had an amazing stay at The Thinnai! The atmosphere is lovely, with natural trees and plants all around, creating a very green and refreshing environment. It really feels like a little oasis, so peaceful and relaxing. Our room was spacious, well-maintained, and air-conditioned made our stay really comfortable. A special mention to the fantastic staff! “A few km outside Jaffna. Friendly informative owner who we had informative conversations. The hotel offered Sri Lankan menu - which we didn’t use as we were out and about in Jaffna. A variety of people staying at hotel , both srilankans and Europeans. Rooms were spacious . Bathroom could have been better maintained , we were happy overall. Would recommend if you are looking for a convenient interesting place to stay. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. ”

“When booking through Expedia website, the details that were provided for the stay was Jaffna Heritage Hotel but confirmed details showed Jaffna Heritage Villa. Both managed by same owners and we thought we booked the hotel rather than the Villa. I had already raised this with Expedia but no response!! In future, I will use other booking platforms so that issues raised are resolved promptly. ”

“Converted Villa with 4 rooms in Jaffna suburbs. Nicely converted with pool, garden and small dining area. Accommodation roomy but with no natural light. TV with several English language channels - news and other. Good air conditioning and kettle provided. Hosts are helpful and on hand, this is definitely more of a home stay than a hotel. Food is available but needs to be brought in from outside. Breakfasts were good - ordered the night before. Pool is very nice but avoid around 5pm when the……

“Due to the Full-moon celebrations we had made a booking days in advance, which had been confirmed in writing. On the day of arrival when we called the hotel to inform that our train would be an hour late, they claimed we didn’t have a booking. They even put the phone down on us. ”
