“We chose to stay in a more rural area to get away this year. It was definitely rural. There are just a few places by the house but we didn’t see anyone. There is a convenience store about 15-20 min away but other than that, it’s a good 45 min to civilization. Very nice river frontage. The only downfall of the river were the barges traveling up and down the river at night. Very nice to watch but some of us lost sleep due to the noise. The house definitely had everything we needed. ”

“We were in town for a wedding weekend. It was a perfect stay. Property was just like the pictures. They had all the basics - paper towels, garbage bags, soaps and detergent. That made it nice for a short stay. Beds were comfy. Plenty of towels but a nice washer and dryer of you run out. Room for one car in the driveway and two spots on the road and the extra half bath came in handy for 6 adults to get ready at one time. Quiet neighborhood. Perfect spot to visit French Lick. Thank you ”

The rock path to get down to the basement area may be difficult for some people, but the host did say they are working on replacing that. The party barn was fun for everyone, but the kids especially loved playing Monopoly. We enjoyed visiting the state park and Marengo Caves! “The owners definitely undersell this place in their listing - it was perfect for what we needed! A quiet location at the end of a private drive, surrounded by the woods, was a great location for a relaxing trip away from the city. Charlie and Audrey also provided great tips on where to rent a boat for the Lake, as well as a list of nearby bait shops, stores and places to grab some grub. We’d definitely be willing to stay here again! ”
