“The house was more than enough for two travelers. Very comfortable and quiet - I couldn’t hear my friend when she was in her room or other parts of the house. Some reviews mention freeway noise, and you can hear it, but it’s more like white noise and didn’t bother us at all. Location is close to everything. With access to the 101 it was an easy trip both North and South - and we explored both.We used a laptop for Netflix and Prime. The cord to hook up to the TV was already there.Plenty of room……

“Beautiful, quiet place. Well maintain and tranquil. Great location to explore the lower Trinity and not too far from the coast. The place is significantly better than I expected and I expected it to be good. The nearby Thai food is just a bonus. A delicious bonus. ”

“My husband and I stayed in the property for three nights. We traveled with my parents and adult brother. There was plenty of space for us all. It’s in a small kind of eclectic community about 10 or so minutes to downtown Eureka. There is a small diner just a few blocks away for breakfast and lunch. The drive to town was really easy. We enjoyed waking up to the water canal views from the deck each morning and just being a couple minutes walk to trails to a beach. The bedroom decor and dining……

“Absolutely loved the location!! Short walk down to the beach and a few hiking options. In depth binder with lots of info on town and cottage. Yard is very small & looks pretty unused but you're next to the coast & Redwoods! ”

It provide and excellent and very quiet place to stay along the northern coast of California, with a spectacular view of the mad river and the ocean. The house is well stocked with everything a renter would need for cooking, vacationing, sleeping, etc. And it is pleasantly comfortable as well. “This is a drive away from town but so worth it! Fickle Hill will forever be an inside joke to us now. The property is just stunning, and Phil and Jeanie’s whimsy is so awe inspiring. Perfect host, clear rules, cozy cabin and a great place to rest. Thank you! ”
