“In the heart of the old town. Very traditional. Used the big tub several times. Wonderful!”

“If one is looking for a western-style hotel, this is the wrong place. On the other hand, if one is looking for living (mostly) like a Japanese family would, in a real Japanese neighborhood, then you are looking at the right place. This place is 100% Japanese except that it has 2 full-size western beds, which is not common. And, it has a modern Japanese toilet (heated seat, ETC.) which, I'm guessing, is not too common in 'normal' homes due to their expense. The two 'issues' for us were:……

“The original booking was double booked by mistake. Thankfully, the property owner upgraded us to a newer and larger place in the heart of the district we hoped to explore. She was extremely kind and answered all of our questions immediately. Wonderful home and host with whom I would highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the near future.”

“地點方便，處於京都駅與大型京都Aeon 中間，方便購物 但衛生環境真的比較差，首先，門口石級與屋邊中間的空隙怖滿蜘蛛網，廚房廚具擺放凌亂，廚具用品怖滿微塵，雪櫃頂鋪了一層微塵，爐具和廚櫃需要移開小枱才能使用，極不方便 梳化後面勁多髮絲，放在梳化旁的Dyson 吸塵機清潔不乾淨，塵盒吊住長髮絲，不敢使用 將來暫不考慮再租住這町屋”

“We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. The bed in the second bedroom is on the floor, which isn't a bad thing considering this is an authentic experience,……

“We were lucky to choose this property. The house is spacious, great to experience a more traditional type of accommodation. Location is on a network of small streets with restaurants and cafes throughout. Nearby to shopping district, river and 20 min walk to Kyoto station.”
