“We found this place a few years ago and loved it. When we realized it was open for a last minute Mother’s Day weekend trip we jumped on it. What a great place. Unique, interesting, with plenty of room for everyone. We’ll be happy to stay again in the future. ”

“We came with family and our toddler to spend the weekend exploring at Starved Rock and Matthiesen State Parks. They were an easy 15min drive away, and Elaine's place was the perfect cozy place to come back to! The home is beautiful and Elaine had so many wonderful touches, including a welcome toy for our dog! We'll definitely be back, thank you Elaine!”

“Property was great. Old home with lots of charm and impeccably maintained. Owner was easy to work with and responsive, and allowed for an early check in, which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely recommend. ”

“Based on the pictures you would think this was a simple but very nice home. However, once we checked in, just from the outside you could tell it has not been kept up. The deck is worn and weeds and trees are growing along side it. Inside, there were numerous things wrong, including a strong smell of cat pee that was in the hallway and got stronger in the bedroom. I let the owner know and she said she would have the cleaning crew check it out. However, it was clear that the countertops had not……

“Close to the park and in the Grand Bear Resort vicinity. We all loved how close the park was, how quaint the town is and the kids love the indoor water park! ”

“We wanted to get away for a couple days to see fall colors and hike near Starved Rock. This little house in the small town of DePue IL perfectly met our expectations. We had a great time looking at all the interesting decorations. While in DePue be sure to get a pork tenderloin at Casford’s Crossing!”

“Came out this way to do a weekend of hiking and relaxing outside of the city and this place didn’t disappoint. Super clean, updated, and most importantly comfortable! The area is incredible and includes a lot to do right outside the door to this place. Would come back for ice cream and coffee and Bruce and Ollie’s and a beer at Ginger Road any day! ”
