“Rustic and charming log cabin. Almost no staff visible. Text for help. No breakfast, no food items for sale on property. Limited activities. At the base of the majestic Brazos Cliffs. Several miles from the highway and further yet to any retail. Heavily wooded. Wildlife in abundance. Enjoyed our stay, loved the wood-burning stove! Probably would not stay again nonetheless.”

Proprietors Carolyn and Tom are extremely friendly, helpful and very professional. Will give you all the privacy you seek or share a bottle of wine while star gazing. If you've never been to this part of the world, it is a must see. ”

“The lodge is a perfect getaway for people looking for some quiet time. The property is very well kept and you will be amazed with the interiors. The owners definitely put in a lot of work to create a serene retreat in the mountains. The owners are friendly, come and personally greet you. There's a sauna, fire pit, hot tub and japanese style baths on the property, coupled with a well equipped kitchen, there's no reason to leave the property except to enjoy several hikes in the vicinity. “We called on our way to the hotel. Was informed we needed to be there before 7pm or we wouldn’t be able to check in instead of the 1030 check in on the booking info. We barely made it. The room looked stayed in and no toilet paper or toiletries. We had to go back out and find the usual hotel provided items in an small town that shuts down early. Just an awful experience. Tried taking it up with the clerk or manager the next morning. A service lady said no one was around to talk to and have an……
