“The cottage was a little further from town than we anticipated, but we spent most of our time in the park and the caverns; so, it suited us well. The property manager, Ruth, checked on us each day to make sure we had everything we needed. The only little glitch was with the clothes washer when trying to wash with cold water. It turned out the hot and cold selections on the washer were reversed, and we found a work around so everything ended well. The area was very quiet and pleasant to enjoy in……

“The hotel is furnished in a classical style with warm wood tone. It'maintained reasonably well and clean. We were given a room that seems to have a leak from the ceiling. Front desk was very quick to assign us to a different room. The bathroom works ok for me but lacks table surface for makeup. The Tap room serves very delicious food and service was excellent. Overall we will return when visiting Shenandoah again ”

“This is a lovely property! The loft is well-maintained, nicely decorated and has a comfy bed. James was responsive and attentive. The view was gorgeous and it was a great place to relax on the deck, enjoy the sunset, play cards and listen to all of the birds. The road was tough and I highly recommend AWD with a high ground clearance if possible. It may have been tougher than normal due to all of the rain that has come through there recently. “My husband, myself and children went to spend fathers day weekend and birthday. We had an awesome time, beautiful new cabin, GREAT VIEW, well equipped....the cabin has everything you need. lovely place. We had dinner in Luray Town (15 mins away) in the Chop House Bistro (great food). Used the jacuzzi, fantastic family time.”

“My spouse and I had a peaceful weekend at this property. It was very clean with clear directions on use of all of the amenities. The hot tub is nice and all of the indoor amenities are up to date. We enjoyed its close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and had a nice day of hiking during our stay. “We enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious, had good amenities and was in a good location. The pre-checkout cleaning requirements did feel onerous and we also had a guy come cut the grass all around the house right in the middle of the day without any warning.”

“We had a great time and PLENTY of space for our 3 families of all ages. It was off the beaten path but within 10 min to everything you could want. Home is so spacious and the owner was amazing to work with! She even left breakfast goodies. There are little bars but remember, you’re on the river so it’s expected and they communicated that. The water has a terrible smell at first because again, your on the water but once you run it a bit l, it cleared right up. We would absolutely reccomend this……

“My wife and I spent a lovely weekend at Cardinal Cabin along with our dog, who lived his best life running and sniffing through the adjacent forest. The property was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the firepit and hot tub!”
