“The house was clean, nicely decorated and CONVENIENT to where we needed to be (Winthrop University and the Oratory). We were only there to sleep and eat breakfast. It was very nice with no real problems. It was a quiet neighborhood (no dogs barking through the night as a few reviews stated). You could hear the early morning train (thus the house's name) but it was in the distance and I found it comforting not annoying. I don't think it would even wake an infant. Maybe next time we will have time……

“We were in town for a long wedding weekend. With a one year old we opted to do a home environment. It was “the one”. She loved the screened porch. The wildlife was fun to watch. Multiple squirrels, birds and we even saw a small deer. Walking distance to great little pubs and kid friendly food. Downtown Waxhaw is a delight. Beds were comfortable and every possible thing you could need was thought of. Even Tony’s. Down south people know what this is. Overall I wish we had a few extra days to……

“This was the perfect retreat for a weekend away with my roller-coaster enthusiast of a son. The cottage was spotless and had all the amenities we could ask for. The pull-out couch was the most comfortable bed ever! We used the kayaks on the lake and I enjoyed much-needed “me time”, reading my book on the dock. Short drive to Carowinds for adventure!”

“The property is very clean and well kept. The owner stayed in touch and provided information and instructions in a very timely manner. This was our second stay. We have family nearby. Waxhaw is a nice place to visit with good food and shops just two blocks away. We were delighted to be able to stay at this property again. ”
