“It was the perfect location for our hiking vacation. We are avid hikers and this cottage was within 35 min drive of all of the hikes we had researched in advance that we wanted to do in both the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forest. We also really enjoyed the local wineries.The cottage itself was clean and had a well equipped kitchen and had nice old fashioned charm. If you like historical places you will like this cottage. “We stayed here for the wedding of our daughter, which took place at the nearby Market at Grelen. We had a fantastic experience--everything we needed was here, including space for our dogs to run around safely. The hosts could not have been more gracious and the communication was excellent. We stay a many VRBO properties and I have never seen one so well appointed. We were able to have the family over for dinner and everyone fit around the table with matching plates! “We had the pleasure of staying in the cottage the first weekend in October while we were part of the Graves Mountain Apple Festival. The cottage was situated on a lovely property surrounded by trees. Every amenity was well thought out - from toiletry items, plenty of paper products and towels, coffee and tea, even breakfast!!
