“We rented this place for the first time for a family gathering. The setting was very private and “country-ish”. For the most part everything listed was present at the place and there were enough sleeping options for our crew. Overall - the owners were nice and fairly responsive but there was a level of disappointment to the care of the property and more importantly the preparedness for our arrival. They said the pool and hot tub were cleaned and ready but the pool was still dirty and the hot tub……

“We made happy memories over a cold January weekend. We cooked together, sat around the fire, played games and dozed in comfortable beds with high quality linens. We enjoyed the view of the water and the twinkling lights on the property at night. The steam shower was divine. If you like cooking, bring good knives, a veggie peeler and good pans. Plenty of glassware and dishes and some cookware provided. ”

“This is an apt in a multi unit home. It worked out ok for us but you can hear the other tenants in the home. Bedrooms are a great size and the eating areas and kitchen/ living room are very comfortable. It rained most of the time so we weren’t able to enjoy the outside area but that looked very inviting. Communications with host were positive and when I had questions or needed anything he made sure it was taken care. This home is very close to a few good coffee shops and 5 min away from Avon Old……

“we paid for early check in, however, seems as though it was not communicated and by the time we were able to get in the house, it was nearly the normal check-in time which turns out to be a waste of money for me..Also there were no instructions on turning on the heat which we were doing incorrectly and had to wait in a 45 deg house until someone came to adjust it- also we had to call about the fire place - and the recliner seats did not work”

“The house was even more beautiful than the photos. Best hot tub ever, well-equipped kitchen (everything we needed and more), comfortable beds, quality linens and towels. I appreciated the labeling of light switches, as well. The owner responded to my questions quickly and graciously accommodated a few requests. I would rebook this house in a heartbeat the next time in the area. ”

“Loved the location, yard, outside areas and the charm of the old home. The property was clean but appeared that no one had been there is a long time so did not have that pristine "just cleaned" feel. Some pests (bugs) and the dishwasher was not emptied (still full from previous tenants). The most concerning issue was the unlevel flooring, the steepest, narrowest stairs I have ever seen and is a property that could be very dangerous for young and old. “Our family had a wonderful stay at the beautiful, clean, peaceful Hoyt House. There was plenty of space to gather together as well as spread out. The daffodils were beginning to bloom and there is the sight and sound of a running stream behind the home. We were close to fun things to explore like the Audubon, covered bridge, and Kent waterfalls. Great bakery, restaurants, grocery a short drive away. The heated indoor swimming pool was the biggest hit. We hope to have the opportunity to……

“Considering that area does not have convenient hotels, this location was perfect for the event we attended. It was nice of them to vacate their home so we could stay - though we wish that would have been communicated. There is no extra room with twin beds - at least not functional. The property is nice. Whomever took the pictures did a great job. It worked for us for the short time we were in the area.”

“My husband and I and two young children stayed for 7 days to visit family. It was super clean and you can tell a lot of thought was put in it to make it feel cozy. There are plenty of board games, all the dishware you need, lots of nice towels, and the beds were comfortable with extra pillows provided. It has black out blinds in each bedroom which we loved for better sleep. Easy to get in touch with the landlord. We had a great stay! ”
