“This place is a little gem! It's small and rustic but immaculate and Isobel has thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable. There is space for a car if you're driving (although I brought my bike!) The cottage sits at the back of the owners property, but they were very discreet and I did not see them all week (although I knew they were there if I needed anything!). “Spent a lovely few days at the Hobbit Cottage. It has a dog friendly garden and it is a short walk to Kames Bay. You can access the Cathedral of the Isles from the end of the cul-de-sac which takes less than 5 minutes. The cottage is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. June, our host, was very attentive and you only had to ask if you needed anything.”

“Highly recommend this flat, very clean and tidy. Received full instructions from the host who also kept in touch during the holiday, making sure everything was okay. Magnificent views across the sea from the living room window. Nice and quiet. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Extremely comfortable beds, the most comfortable I’ve ever come across. It couldn't have been a better location for all of us, things to do for all ages.The property is located across the Clyde from Grenock, check your options for the ferries, it pays to purchase tickets before you board.Also the property is now painted grey not white as in the photos, it threw us a little when looking for the property. Nothing though to stop us completely enjoying our stay at the property. ”

“The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. “Don't be put off any the tired exterior of Grove House. The apartment is well presented, well equipped though you must be prepared to climb 38 steps to get to this attic location.
