“We were booked in for the guesthouse but when we got here really wanted to stay multiple nights and were given the option to move into a wing of the homestead at the same rate which was a generous option -- Frances and Julian are wonderful. ”

“The place was much older than the photos made it look. Yes it was a design house at some time in the past, but now it looks old and shows its age. The location is also hard to gwt to due to where it is on a busy road. It was not particularly close to the lake or park as the description made it sound. Having said that, the house is maintained well but cannot hide its age. ”

“Our room had an amazing view of Lake Rotorua. The area is nice and quiet and relaxing. The complementary breakfast was very delicious. Parking was okay, but the driveway was very narrow and only one lane. Overall highly recommended if you really want to stay away from the tourists.”

“Great communication before our stay. Such a beautiful place in Paradise valley. Lovely property with garden surrounding, the rooms are clean, well equipped and modern. Close enough to Rotarua for trips in and shopping, but isolated enough to feel like you’re off grid. Amazing - we loved it. Thank you Heather. Recommend the Wai Ariki hot springs and spa as well - Restorative journey - pure luxury - we were on our own there in the evening. ”

“stayed here for two nights. lake view is nice but that's about it. the insulation is bad. fortunately neighbors' conversation was muffled and intelligible. every time a neighboring door closes it sounds like someone's slamming the door. one lamp cover in the bathroom actually overheated and cracked when i was away briefly. glass splinters scattered the bathroom sink area and a big piece landed on the floor. luckily i was not using the sink when it happened. the spa and sauna was available but……
