“Stopped overnight on our way down to our own place in the Charente. Plenty of parking around the chateau. Very pleasant staff and a lovely friendly German Shepperd dog to welcome you. Room was very clean, spacious and a most comfy bed and pillows. We had a lovely dinner in the evening but wanted to get on the road early in the morning so passed on the breakfast, so can't comment on that. Lastly, nice decking area to sit out on in the evenings.”

“Acceuil sympathique. Carte de la Restauration courte mais des produits nobles et frais. ( je me suis régalé) Entrée + plat+ dessert a 31 euros plus que convenable. Tres accessible en véhicule car proche gare. Dv de bonnes qualités car on entendait pas les trains. Manque juste un petit frigos. Sinon , cest au top. Je vous invite a y aller tres rapidement. Jai oublié d'attirer lattention sur l'extérieure tres jolie et apaisant ou vous pouvez manger sous un préau avec des tables et chaises comme……

“The host was very nice and spoke good English. Our room was cramped and somewhat dated. The toilet was separate from shower area and both doors had to be closed to navigate around the bed. Breakfast was great. There was a close-by restaurant where we had a dinner. It was really very nice for the price!”

“My fiancee and I only stayed one night at Chateau de La Riviere, and I wish we had stayed longer. Communications with Alice, one of our hosts, were clear and easy. Upon arrival, we were told that we were the only ones staying that night! This made it feel like a fairy tale - a chateau all to ourselves! The historical flavor of the property made us feel like we were back in the 17th century. We were served an excellent multi-course meal by Chef Carole, who not only prepped and prepared our meal,……

“This hotel is really great. It’s about a five min walk from the train station and very close to the cathedral. No AC but I had a fan and the window opened. Breakfast is very good. It would have been helpful if the do not disturb sign was on the door knob instead of the desk. I could not find it and enthusiastic housekeepers just opened the door a couple times. Would stay again. ”

“Modern hotel, 5-10 minutes walk from train station, and about the same from the cathedral. Decent sized bathroom (with separate toilet chamber), comfy bed, nice sitting chair and small work desk. Good breakfast selection, especially on the cold side.”
