“At least in April, Lummi Island is remarkable for its silence. We heard birds, and an aircraft far away, and the occasional crinkly sound of the tires of slow moving “traffic.”One thing important for guests to note: The charming ferry can hold about 16 cars or one semi. Islanders leave in the morning 6-9-ish (I think to go to work, the sad souls) and return 4-6 ish. Those are busy ferry times. If you need to be someplace, get it the ferry line early.
