“There are many homeless people in front of the hotel, and it feels unsafe to go out alone. Of course, the restaurants and shopping nearby are very convenient, which is the only advantage.”

“The room is a total disaster. Broke and battered. Worst Scenario ever faced! Nightmare! Broken everything, the drapes, the electric wall plug were without surface plates exposing the socket , only one socket works out of 2! The shower slide door won’t slide, walls were dirty with lumpy paint tears down the wall. Furniture were aged and dirty and shinny from aged grease rubbing on it. Fabric were vintage and old. Flooring was dull and old . Insufficient lighting. Worst if worst experience!”

“Easy to locate when arriving to town. Friendly staff. Great breakfast each day. Love that they have a social hour three nights per week. Secure building. Would definitely stay there again.”

“The Highland Glen Lodge was such a gem. The house is absolutely beautiful and the location was so serene. The owners were friendly and helpful and have thought of everything for your stay. I did stay with my 11 year old and I might say it is not the best for kids. It was so quiet I was afraid he was going to make noise and disturb others. We whispered the whole time haha. I would definitely recommend to others visiting Anchrorage and looking for a wonderful experience.”

“Was very impressed with room size and comforts. Staff we dealt with were all good at their jobs. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety. Two free drinks in lounge between 5:30 and 7:30 was a nice touch”
