“Malta is an exotic place for me. The hotel is located very near the airport, with about 15 minutes of walk. A taxi ride would be only 5 minutes. But directions are not clear and almost all the buildings were closed and looked all the same so it was rather difficult to find the place. The young attendant at the front desk was kind and polite. But his duty hours were between 6am and 3pm only. That means any one arriving after 3pm needs to follow the clues left on the door to open the gate and……

“We arrived to find the property was ready and hadn’t been cleaned from the previous tenants. We contacted the owner and to be honest he was very good, provided another property across the hallway and got the original property cleaned within in two hours. We were moved back as the alternative property was cold. But after a poor start we had a good stay. Important to follow the owners instructions as there are several properties in the area with similar names ”

Contradictory experience

"Malta is an exotic place for me. The hotel is located very near the airport, with about 15 minutes of walk. A taxi ride would be only 5 minutes. But directions are not clear and almost all the buildings were closed and looked all the same so it was rather difficult to find the place. The young attendant at the front desk was kind and polite. But his duty hours were between 6am and 3pm only. That means any one arriving after 3pm needs to follow the clues left on the door to open the gate and the room door and serve oneself. For anyone who does not have a well functioned cell phone with web connection, there seems no way for communication and even no way to get in. There is no supermarket, cafeteria, or any grocery store in the nearby area, absolutely nothing, not even a stray animal. So be sure to have dinner in the downtown or bring enough food with you for the night."
