“A great holiday home in a perfect central location. Bigger than expected which was a nice surprise with a gorgeous bathroom. Warm & cosy with plenty of hot water for baths & showers. Lots of original features and a secret little outside hideaway sun trap at the back perfect for a morning cuppa. Easy to unload luggage despite being such a narrow one way road and lovely and clean through out. Can highly recommend. The constant contact with the friendly host was reassuring and the surprise early……

“Just had a 3 night stay. The cottage is very well located with the sea and pub within a few yards away. Anne (the host) was very responsive and provided all details. The cottage was actually better than the pictures do it justice, new sofa and decor etc - Welcome pack was a nice touch and would definitely stay again.”

“The house was everything we hoped for and more. The decor is spot on and there can't be many houses in Whitby with a better vista. The only thing I would say though is that it is very difficult to load and unload...Church St car park was packed so we had to use the Abbey car park which is a gruelling up/downhill slog for the less fit/able. Be prepared to travel very light as you can't get close to the property with a car. Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.”

The location of the cottage is the biggest plus, but it is also appreciated that the owners are generous in providing all the little extra things within the cottage to help you make the most of your time away. ”

“Just back from a lovely little 2 night stay at Grain Cottage. Beautiful little hideaway with everything you could possibly need. Pauline and Bob are great hosts too, especially giving little meet and greet with the alpacas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Thanm you so kuch”

“Property is well maintained and was well equipped for largish group. Great that all the first floor bedrooms are ensuite. Good location, not too far to harbour or beach and a few very local shops & resteraunts too:-) Easy to comunicate with owner, though didnt need to much as no problems.”

“We had an amazing week at Misty Cottage over the Christmas week. The cottage was fully equipped and gave 3 generations the space that was needed. The bedroom off the kitchen was perfect for nanny who often wakes early and needs a cuppa and the double and twin rooms on the top floor felt like a little private flat. All rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. What stands out for us is the location. With Whitby town and the beach on your doorstep it was perfect for our dog walks and……
