“I loved this place. The staff were great. Parking is easy and right next to the place. We did dine in the restaurant downstairs it is Indian food and done very well. The place has lots of beautiful wall paper though out making it a unique experience. ”

“The hosts, Andy and Ann are very friendly and approachable and ready to sort out any issues. I enjoyed the full English breakfast every morning which was cooked to order and a self service area for tea, coffee, toast etc. Since my last visit a couple of years ago the Wi-Fi has been much improved and the small TV has been replaced with a 40" smart TV. The grounds are always well kept. The only downside was using Expedia for the first time. They told me my room was booked but Saltburn House……

“The Royal Oak has a wonderful location in a quiet village setting and visitors can expect a relaxing change of pace. The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground. “ Easy check in and very helpful staff. The rooms are beautiful and I love that they have name's for the rooms and not numbers. Everything was spotlessly clean. We stayed overnight for a wedding we were attending near by. Would definitely recommend. ”

“Great place, made such a change from regular hotels with personal touches. Room was a great size & included a sofa & small table/chairs. The small tea/coffee station with some breakfast options included in the room was the bit the bowled me over… a treat at 6am, cereal & fruit, new milk & yogurt, plus proper coffee bags, even a tray to carry it to the table. I did eat downstairs within the restaurant on the 1st night which was fab… calzone pizza special & cookie dough special were both tasty &……
