“What a gem! The incredible thoughtful and caring staff make this place gold. I stayed for 2.5 weeks on business. First, it's incredibly clean with no excess fragrances, very safe as they are up on a hill that dead ends to their property, and anything you need they try their best to accommodate. I really love that I could get wine and pizza for dinner so I didn’t have to go out. Live music on the patio on the weekends overlooking the Columbia was just perfect after 10-12 hour days. Honestly……

Dufur is a very small old rural historical town in, what some would call, the middle of nowhere. If you want seclusion and enjoy country walks or bike rides and meeting really interesting people the Balch Hotel is for you as it was for us. The people really are fantastic.
