“We enjoyed our stay and found the staff helpful, suggesting where we could secure our bicycles overnight in the bike cage. It was an interesting old building and I would have loved some more info on its history. The only down side was that the breakfast muesli was stale”

“Amazing set up with an old Victorian decor and nice facilities. Breakfast is terrific and the hosts Jim and Heidi are next level good. They make your stay so nice and nothing is too much trouble. We would stay here again without hesitation.”

“Chris is the most wonderful hostess. We travelled with a dog reactive German Shepherd and Chris made us feel welcome but ensuring our dog's interactions with other dogs were kept to a minimum. The accomodation is lovely and i would have loved to stay longer (i will do so in the future).Our dog was secure, she was allowed inside and we had everything we needed.Chris's homecooked breakfast was 10/10! “A sweet little property that had everything we needed for our 1 night stay in Wangaratta. Julie's communication was excellent and very helpful. Great location, just a short walk from the town centre, as well as the Ovens river walking path. Highly recommend”

“In summary - quiet, rural, friendly. Beautifully decorated, comfy and warm room part of, but separate from, the main house. Lots of well behaved dogs, chooks, guinea fowl, cats to share the stay with. Bonus was the cooked breakfast! Axedale is on the rail bike trail and Bendigo has so much to offer!”

“Chris is a wonderful hostess, friendly and helpful. If you love dogs this is an excellent B&B, even if you don't have yours with you. If you do, they can enjoy a secure yard with a view of the passing world, and are welcome to share space indoors too.”

“the property is in transition (on the day) to a new owner - the room didn't have a tv, a fridge, a table, a chair to sit comfortably or coffee - the toilet seat was broken - when we arrived it was if we were unexpected - certainly not what we expected for $300 - don't submit this review please as the new owners need time to get things sorted”

“I specifically Chose This accommodation As It advertised payment on arrival. I was frustrated and upset on arrival to be told by reception our booking was being canceled due to my credit card not being "valid". I Use a Load and Go Visa for Hotel bookings on A Regular Basis And This Is The First accommodation Provider To refuse A booking. I Had To Contact A Relative To Arrange Another Credit Card For "security" purposes. The room was a very poor example of 1980's take on Victorian Era Decoration.……
