“What we didnt like - strange smell in the rooms, staff pushing all the time to go for buffet meals, getting hot and spicy dishes despite explicitly stating "no chillies", garden was unkempt. Breakfast was decent, chet was quite apologetic about the faux pas with dinner and tried best to make amends.”

“Awesome stay at solitude. The staff is amazing and food is also very nice. Its very secluded and sound of river is very relaxing. They don't server liquor so make sure you get your own stuff, but they can arrange if you have not bought it but it would take some time. The river is not ideal for bath as the rocks are too slippery but you can sit at the side and enjoy tea/beer/soup. They also have small track to almost private waterfall named paritaal which is also amazing. ”

A caveat- Ramgarh is not a place for shopping or adventure sports and doesn't have the hustle-bustle of Nainital, but it is a place where you can sit down, slow down and reinvigorate yourself. The view from our room's balcony was breathtaking. The room was beautiful- the wood furnishings made it a quintessential old-world cottage. The surrounding woods make for a great trekking trail. On the flip side, the meals were a tad expensive (and since the place is a tad secluded,……
