“I was very impressed with this perfect VRBO during my stay. There was more in this VRBO than originally listed - including a refrigerator, freezer, gas range, and there is a French press, but no coffee. I also received a message before I left from the host that I did not check until I had already left (being on Vacation I dismiss my phone) about taking the trash out and leaving the key - I wish this information would have been left in the VRBO. All in all, lovely place, lovely location.”

Everything we needed was provided, including kitchen supplies, cozy blankets, comfortable bedding, and a selection of DVDs for evening movies. “We were visiting family in the area and this was the perfect “home” base. The cabin was immaculate. It IS small, but perfect as we were running around all over most days. The neighborhood is quiet and we even had some friend neighbor dogs that came to visit each day. We had bonfires and enjoyed the view. All in all just perfect.”

“I always look forward to coming back to this home on the St Marys River. Perfect location just fifteen minutes from the Soo Locks. Very comfortable with lots of space. Very nice deck with lots of comfortable chairs for freighter watching. The owner is always making improvements. It’s a pleasure to visit.”

“Beautiful home on the river. Watching ships come and go from locks was entertaining. Lots of snow but nice and cozy inside. ”

“We genuinely could not have asked for a more perfect place to get away for a long weekend. The property is stunning and we were treated to a dazzling display of the northern lights as soon as we arrived on our first night. The cabin was immaculately clean and equipped with everything we needed for an easeful stay. Perfect for anyone who wants a secluded space to disconnect while still being an easy drive to so many fabulous UP destinations. We would 100% book another stay here - maybe for a full……

“There's not much to do on sugar island other than enjoy time with each other. Cook a bunch of food and enjoy the peace and quiet. Have a campfire and if that makes you happy. This is the perfect stay. We love it at the sugar suite.”
