Conch'd Out Beach Cottage, North Palmetto Point, Eleuthera, Bahamas:

With only a couple neighboring properties, you'll oftentimes have this beach all to yourselves! This is the perfect place to get away, but still close enough to restaurants and activities when you decide to venture.

Location:

We are located on the Atlantic coast in the beautiful island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. Grocery stores and restaurants are only a 15 minute drive away in the main town of Governor's Harbour. We are also centrally located on the island, halfway between Harbour Island & Spanish Wells in the north (accessible by ferry) and Lighthouse Beach in the south.

Airports:

While Governor's Harbour (GHB) is the nearest airport, you may also fly into North Eleuthera (ELH) or Rock Sound (RSD).

Beach Cottage Layout:

Walk up one flight of stairs to 500 sq ft of ocean-view living space. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, stove/oven, and dining table for 2. The bedroom (1 king bed) and living room open onto the patio, overlooking the beach. The main level below consists of a garage and is used for owners' storage only. The entire Cottage is private to your booking.

The Conch'd Out property consists of a "Beach House" and "Beach Cottage." This listing is for the Cottage. The adjacent House (also adults only) is rented independently from the Cottage and has its own designated access to a separate section of beach on the other side of the property. About the Island:

Despite the rise in celebrity sightings and luxury homes, Eleuthera largely remains an uncommercialized island, scattered with family-owned restaurants and businesses. This is small island living, where flexibility and an easy-going attitude is key. However if you're willing to go with the flow and live like the locals, you'll be rewarded with beautiful beaches to explore and the opportunity to have one mostly all to yourselves!

About Us:

Named after the seashell conch (pronounced "KONK"), the property was built in 1999 and purchased by new owners in October 2020. Although an older home, the new owners fell in love with its ocean views, direct location on the beach, and relaxed island vibe. Not needing much more than a simple abode, soft sand and sun, this is where they come to get away from it all, breathe in the fresh air, warm up and recharge. They welcome you to do the same!

Perfect beachside cottage
This was our second stay on the property and will stay again in the future. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach and the house is perfectly set up for two people. The beach is largely private. Host communicates very well and property is clean and well cared for. Access to washer and dryer is also very nice.

Second Visit
This Cottage is not for everyone but, if you are two adults looking for, almost, total seclusion, a fantastic 'pink' sand, private beach 75 steps from your patio, a short drive to several great restaurants, this is the spot. Total rest and relaxation!!

A slice of heaven
We had multiple days we just hung out at what was basically our own private beach. Snorkeling was very good a little ways offshore on the reef structure, saw lots of different fish. Beach cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Property manager was very helpful with any questions we had.

Cozy house with a beautiful view
The cottage is a great vacation getaway. The cottage is furnished with everything that you need for a great vacation. The host is excellent with their communication with you before and during your vacation. The cottage and beach location are semi-private. The beach directly in front of the cottage is wide with an easy walk into the water. We didn't see any visitor on our beach the whole week. You will see post about the "no-see-ums" insect. They are for real! The host will advise on different types of insect sprays that will work against this biting insect. The thing to do is wear long sleeves, light weight full length jogging pants with socks after 6pm. Even with those pesty insects, the cottage is an outstanding place to stay for your vacation. We'll be going back to the island in the future, and we hope to stay in the cottage if we can find an open week. It's one of the best places to stay on the island!

Amazing privacy with a stunning beach. Beautiful reef just 100 yards offshore. Night views are amazing. And the property itself is phenomenal - perfect in every way for a couple. Clean, good modern amenities, quiet and private. The only "complaint" is that the nightime biting insects are nothing to joke about. Make sure to have insect repellent and some Neosporin or similar - in the evenings they are just above the grass.

Pre winter get-a-way
This was our third stay at Conch'd Out and it never disappoints! It is peaceful, private and beautiful. I am never happier than when I am at Conch'd Out and I am always sad to leave. The cottage is extremely clean and will meet the most picky standards. It is well appointed with everything you need. The management team are amazing and the owners go above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. (that is if you are lucky to meet them during your stay). I miss it already. Time to book our next stay. You should book too, don't miss out on this gem!

A Little Slice of Heaven
My husband and I had a lovely time at this sweet little cottage with incredible oceanfront views nestled amongst the beautiful foliage and well-maintained grounds of this property on Banks Road. We felt safe and cared for by the hosts, property mgr, grounds keeper, and housecleaner (who waved at us from the adjacent house one day when we were leaving for the day to introduce herself). The cottage was clean and well-appointed for our needs. It is always nice to have a W&D at the beach. The beds were very comfortable; we slept well. The cottage is very conveniently located to grocery stores and restaurants and lots of great beaches for which Eleuthera is known for. You do not want to miss Eleuthera Island Farm just minutes away, owned and operated by the property manager Anne and her husband. The beach at Conch'd Out, though gorgeous, is a bit rocky in places along the beach and upon water entry so keep that in mind. Other reviews have mentioned walking in either direction along the beach for miles though that does involve walking over lots of uneven and sharp rocks and timing things so you do not get caught when the tide comes in not being able to get back. None of that really matters as there are more than enough close by beaches with different features to meet various preferences. Just so you know that that might not be out your front door. Though it might be! I almost feel silly mentioning it as it truly is a magnificently beautiful place. Book and enjoy!

Perfect little paradise on a beautiful beach
This is in such a great stretch on the Atlantic beach. The house has everything you need to enjoy the beach. You are close by some great restaurants. The beach is beautiful. We saw turtles right out front. The mattress is very firm if you like that.

Relax
The cottage was exactly as we expected and more! We were totally relaxed for our entire stay. We did suggest an upgrade to their 2 beach chairs and the Conch’d Out team were already looking, very nice! We did have a “water issue” but with the help of Anne and the caretaker it was resolved quickly. We have already booked for next year, but for a longer time. We love the privacy!! We are total beach people and this fit us beyond belief! Our” secret hideaway”:)

Wonderful for the two of us
The cottage was beautiful, clean, well equipped. The beach is right there! We walked a half-mile up and back each morning for a week and saw no one on the beach, just the neighbor (at Kokomo) repairing his steps. Anne was very helpful via text. Be sure to stop at her place (Island Farm); Tuesdays and Fridays they have fresh bread. The gardener was very friendly; he cut open a couple of coconuts for us. We snorkeled off the beach, swimming out to the more vibrant reef. Didn't use the kayak because we couldn't find an anchor and didn't want to lose it. Tried other beaches as well, but none are as nice as this one. The weather was hot when we were there (around June 1) so we didn't sit out on the patio much. The A/C was greatly appreciated. Power was out one day but the generator kicked on and stayed on seamlessly. We would definitely come back and stay at Conch'd Out Beach Cottage.

Perfect getaway for two
My husband and I come to Eleuthera every year for our anniversary and love Conch’d Out (cottage and house). The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway but also close enough to restaurants, Island Farm, GHB airport, and Governor’s Harbour do things when you want to get out. A beautiful quiet pink sand beach and lovely sunrises are at your doorstep. Only thing we missed was a dishwasher because we enjoy cooking fresh seafood some nights when we don’t want to go out to dinner - but when you cook for only two it’s not an issue. The main house does have a dishwasher if you stay there. The property manager Anne Bethel graciously stopped by to see us soon after arrival and communicated with us prior to and throughout our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. We will be going back for 2 weeks next year!

Perfect for Two
Great beach out your back door. It was windy for the first part of the week but calmed down our last few days so we could get the kayak out a little and also snorkel around a little. You can also get out of the wind or sun at the South end of the beach where there’s a nice hill for a wind block. Also very private area…The kitchen has everything you’d need including separate filtered water tap. We spent most of our days going to other beaches but still nice to have that view in the morning and evening. Great communication. There’s a generator although we didn’t lose power once. Water to outside shower went out once (city supply issue) but we still had water inside. Could use a separate foot wash under the outdoor shower but that’s all I could see the place needed. Also, sliding door requires a little effort to open/close. Worth the money.

Nice spot
Very clean, a little sparse, but a beautiful spot. The weather wasn't good for snorkeling or flyfishing so we spent a lot of time at the villa reading. The one day we did snorkel we found the reefs out front pretty barren. Would like to have had the entertainment system working but in the 2 weeks we were there nobody bothered to do anything about it

Heaven on Eleuthera!
This was our fourth visit to the island of Eleuthera and our favorite place to stay thus far. At Conch'd Out you are central to most ammenities including grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, tourist points (Leons Levy, Tippys) boutique shops and the historic town of Governors Harbour. (Approx 10 min drive) YET you are in a quiet suburb, off the beaten track. You have direct access to a gorgeous, secluded beach with soft powdery sand, just steps away from your door! The turquois blue waters of the ocean are mesmerizing. We had no desire to go anywhere else as this truly was the best place to be. A true Bahamian experience. The bungalow is well appointed and has everything you will need for a weeks stay. Excellent communicaton between the property manager, Anne, and the villas owners made our stay even more enjoyable. We cannot wait to return!!

Enjoyable Stay..
The Beach Cottage was clean and ready early which was great since we had an early flight out of Miami. I communicated with Anne upon arrivial to the airport and the drive to the house was uneventfull,except for having two flat tires ..welcome to Eleuthera! The Beach House is closer than projected on the website and is above (on a hill) the Beach Cottage. That being said, the porch/deck on the Cottage has no privacy if the Beach House is occupied. This might or might not be an issue with future grests. Other than that cottage was great and the location has very good road access.

Super Spot!
Lovely cottage - perfect for 2 people - and great location. The beach was very private and the views/sound of the waves were incredible. The water was a bit rough but we managed to snorkel most days. There could be a few more kitchen items such as pots and pans/bowls, but the availability of drinking water (reverse osmosis) more than made up for it. We have been to Eleuthera many times and this was definitely our favourite spot!

Quiet cottage with incredible views
Conch’d Out Beach Cottage was an ideal getaway for my husband and I. The cottage was immaculate, quiet, peaceful and mostly private, as the Conch’d Out beach house next door was only booked for a few days during our stay, which meant the rest of the time it was empty. View can’t be beat and we loved hearing the waves all night. The beach at the cottage is quiet and mostly private. We saw footprints but very few people. The cottage itself is nicely appointed, spacious yet cozy, and plenty for 2 people. King bed is very extremely comfy, I would call it med-firm. Shower is large and water pressure is great. Plenty of comfy seating inside and outside on the patio. Location on the island is close to mid-way, which is a nice jumping off point for destinations both North and South. Plenty of food choices within 15 minutes drive. Everyone we met was friendly, and Anne was a text away if we needed anything. Really a perfect stay :)

Cutest little house!
What an amazing location!! The little house is super clean and the view is beautiful and the beach is just below the house!! The kitchen is well stocked and the bed is very comfortable! The power was out multiple times while we where staying at conch’d out, but their generator always kicked right on and we where good to go! Cant go wrong staying here! Super cute place! Thanks also to the property manager Anne! She is very helpful and also has the best little farm stand (island Farm)! Great place to get homemade breads, fresh local produce and cheese etc…. Enjoy your stay at this little gem of a place!!

The best!
