“We absolutely loved the cozy cabin! Super clean, well appointed, very nice appliances, very comfortable furniture. Lots of privacy - but close to Crystal Mountain (I had spa appointments), Arcadia Bluffs (Don golfed) and we enjoyed an interesting meal at the Iron Fish - even though we only drink beer and wine which they don't have - the food was great and if you like whiskey and bourbon - that's the place for you! “My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We weren’t able to enjoy the exterior with the heavy snow, but the inside was super cozy. We were plenty warm. An easy distance from Crystal Mountain Resort, and not too far from other towns if you are looking for restaurants, gas, groceries, etc. The owners were also super responsive. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.”

If visiting in the winter heed the instructions and park at top, if you do not have 4 wheel drive and snow tires you may not make it back up the hill. ”

Our older kids were able to walk to/from the Buck lift, though we typically drove as the walk is a little long carrying gear. We would stay here again! ”

“This cabin was the perfect getaway! Shocking amount of stuff to do just minutes away. Clean and cozy. Hot tub and bonfire pit offered such a relaxing end to the evening. Thompsonville has great dining too. We visited iron fish distillery for a tasting and a snack. The food was AMAZING. We also explored crystal mountain to dine for dinner as well as took the 10 minute drive to Benzonia to shop and check out the new casino ”

“Our family group of 10 stayed in the Northern Nest for a trip skiing at Crystal Mountain, which is about 12 minutes away. The home is very nice and well laid out for our group size. Nestled into the woods beside the Betsie River, this place is a 10/10! The owner is very quick communicating and was great to work with as well! We will be back this summer to do some kayaking!”

As other reviews stated, though it backs up to woods, it is in a neighborhood. But there is a decent amount of seclusion. “This place was fabulous for our group of 6! The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was a hit with several of us. We did have a snafu with the dishwasher, it decided to not want to be unlocked. I messaged Tammy , she and Mike happened to be down the street checking on another rental. This was Friday night at 9:30, mind you & they came right away! They were so kind and helpful! The dishwasher ended up needing to be replaced, but it was no big deal for us. Thank you……
