“Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! “My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. “We had a chance to spend the weekend with our kids (age 18 and 20), and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The view was spectacular and the home was perfect. It was so peaceful and relaxing, yet there was so much to do—fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, ping-pong, darts, board games, the list goes on. Everyone had a fantastic time.
