“Title: Elegant stay in a perfect location – highly recommend Room 561
We had a lovely experience at The Continental Hotel Oslo. We booked a junior suite and were very pleased with the space and comfort. The suite featured a large bathroom with a deep soaking tub and a separate shower, plus a spacious living area and plenty of closet space. The bed was softer than I usually prefer, but surprisingly comfortable for my back.
The staff were warm, professional, and welcoming throughout our stay.……
“Pros: the room is super clean and tidy, equipped with all essentials, location is great, easier to access (although the front door keypad doesn't always work at the first attempt).
Cons: ventilation is a problem. Firstly it was HOT in the room during my stay, the city was 28 degrees outside and the window was out of order (or maybe it is blocked delibrately), so there was little to no air flow in the room, I had to use my shoe to keep the door open to get some fresh air. There is a Dyson fan,……
“Overall everything is nice. Nice and spacious rooms, friendly staff and nice breakfasts! My only complaint is the noise from the street downstairs. Will be good to have some sort of sound blocking measures.”
“I booked 5 rooms for my family and friends, 2 rooms locate at old building and have no AC. There's always only 1 staff working in reception and tried to satisfied everyone's needs, everyone has to learn how to be a patient customer no matter you want to check-in, get some information, ask for help or even complain, you need to wait at least 10 minutes in summer high season.”
“Best youth hostel in Oslo. Staff were very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and tidy. They even provide towels, linens, body wash and shampoo unlike other youth hostels. Not the closest to the downtown area of Oslo but would only take you a short tram ride, definitely acceptable considered the cost”

There is a Dyson fan, it helped a bit but I think the room should have either air conditioning installed or a proper working window, especially for summer. I seriously cannot imagine how one can live in the room if the weather is even hotter. Not just the room, the toilet also has no ventilation, so steam cannot get out, and the floor got really wet after shower because the water would "leak" out from the shower and i dont see any drain on the toilet floor, and then since there is no ventilation so water didnt dry out even after one full day, my wet towels also couldnt dry out.
I know the cons seem long but it's the one thing from keeping this hotel from being perfect. "
