“We have been to the Big Island many times and staying Waipio Gardens was one of the best trips we've ever had there. It is a beautiful property that provided serenity, great hiking and amazing beach time. The house is nestled in the jungle in the valley with gorgeous plants, fruit trees, lots of birds and even wild horses. We picked and enjoyed fresh oranges, grapefruit and papaya. The hosts, Sukumar and Kristi, were very helpful in the planning of the trip as well as ferrying us to and from the……

“Spent 4 nights as a family of 4 during our spring break in March. Nice to have room to spreadout (teens each had a room and parents had the ohana room). We appreciated the games/reading material and a fully stocked kitchen (complete with spices to use!) Especially happy with the cooler weather (in 50s each morning and night) and the pheasants/turkey/peacocks that visited the yard. Beautiful view, very calming and quiet neighborhood. The hill provides quite the morning workout!”

“My family and I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse. The views from the deck were amazing, especially for sunrise. It was clean, well appointed and in a very quiet setting. We only got to spend one night here, but wouldnt hesitate to book here again. The property manager was very responsive.”

“Consistent with the other reviews, we were very happy with our stay at the horse house This is an excellent location to base your trip around Hawaii.. the climate in the town here is a bit cooler, so there’s no need for ac. It’s very central and you can get to any of the attractions you want to go to easily. We would stay here again if we come back.”

“The spot is located a short drive from Hilo, the surf beach and Akaka falls is in walking distance. There are convenient shops down the street. The space was very spacious for our group of 5. Fully stocked kitchen front and back patio. Fred was very responsive when we had questions and he took good care of us. ”

“Everything about this place was good, my grandchildren loved the pool, and it was amazing to sit on the Lanai at night and listen to the coqui frogs and watch the geckos catch insects. Dealing with Suzanne was very easy and efficient and we would definitely go back there again”

“The property is surrounded by farms, is a little farm itself with many fruit trees. Bird song will wake you and frog chirps will put you to bed. There is a pool, however most of it is very deep (》8ft) so not suitable for very young children unless you bring your own flotation devices or will be within arms reach of your child who is learning to swim. The location itself is about 15 minutes outside Hilo, and is lovely, but there are no stores immediately nearby so if you plan on cooking or……
