“The property is surrounded by farms, is a little farm itself with many fruit trees. Bird song will wake you and frog chirps will put you to bed. There is a pool, however most of it is very deep (》8ft) so not suitable for very young children unless you bring your own flotation devices or will be within arms reach of your child who is learning to swim. The location itself is about 15 minutes outside Hilo, and is lovely, but there are no stores immediately nearby so if you plan on cooking or……

“We have been to the Big Island many times and staying Waipio Gardens was one of the best trips we've ever had there. It is a beautiful property that provided serenity, great hiking and amazing beach time. The house is nestled in the jungle in the valley with gorgeous plants, fruit trees, lots of birds and even wild horses. We picked and enjoyed fresh oranges, grapefruit and papaya. “We really enjoyed our stay in Honomu. The home is comfortable and well appointed. Sitting on the second floor balcony and enjoying the forest scenery as well as the ocean in the distance was a highlight. The cool air was refreshing and kept the home a comfortable temperature. We appreciated having laundry facilities available and used the kitchen daily. The day geckos were fun to watch scurrying around. At night, the coqui frogs were quite vocal. “Spent 4 nights as a family of 4 during our spring break in March. Nice to have room to spreadout (teens each had a room and parents had the ohana room). We appreciated the games/reading material and a fully stocked kitchen (complete with spices to use!) Especially happy with the cooler weather (in 50s each morning and night) and the pheasants/turkey/peacocks that visited the yard. Beautiful view, very calming and quiet neighborhood. The hill provides quite the morning workout!”
