“Top score for the hotel. Clean. Good breakfest. Good service. The nature on top of Sierra Da Freita is just amazing ! But, we miss a restaurant for evening dinner. Far to drive to eat after you are tired walking all day in the mountains. Understand it could be a economical challenge. However we will definately stay there next time.”

“Great place for romantic stay. The pool and the view are amazing. The room may need some upgrade (bigger bed). But we really like the place/ owner and enjoyed the neighborhoods. It could be incredible with no so much investment. ”

“The property is beautiful and straddles the Douro River. The roads are not really walkable - narrow, no sidewalks. The breakfast was great. The restaurants lunch and dinner was mediocre. The restaurant did face the beautiful Douro River and had tremendous views. The rooms were nice but not special. ”

“This is a beautiful, peaceful property. We enjoyed the huge rooms, gorgeous dining room, and decent gym. The spa consisted of a small sauna and steam room (which we could not open, and there was no one working there to open it). But it was very difficult to find, as the Expedia address took us to a house 15 minutes away. We had to put the name of the hotel into Google to find it, but there was no sign at the front of the property, which just looks like a house from the road, so it was all very……

“Nice room with a view of hills. Comfortable. With more people in the hotel the sound carries. The spa is not hot but it was adequate for water aerobics. Good shower and internet in my room and spacious. Breakfast was amazing.”

“A very old and tired hotel. Room had not been aired for a long time so smelled damp and musty - I had to open the window as soon as I entered the room. Old furniture, old and dilapidated bathroom / shower. Span and gym not available. Swimming pool available but costs €18 for a swim! I dont expect to pay as a guest of the hotel. Breakfast OK - coffee cold.”
