“The Castaway Resort was exactly what I was looking for. Quiet, clean and cozy. My views of Croton Dam Pond were fabulous and I even got to see some Baltimore Orioles. I went for a week of solitude to spend time weaving on my little workshop loom. I had the peace and quiet I needed to concentrate. The Hosts, Bob and Joy were 100% available and accommodating, and my sweet dog Poppy was completely welcomed. I would definitely return. I'm thinking maybe in the fall when kids are back in……

“What an amazing property! We were in town for Chris Stapleton concert. Brian was so helpful and he has great communication with the guests. We have Family in Grand Rapids and they had so much fun with the paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boat! I have stayed at a number of rentals and this one was nicely stocked. Should I ever need to stay in The Grand Rapids area, I’m booking this property. 7 cousins that had the best time!!!”

“Had a wonderful stay in peak autumn with our young kids. The cottage felt like home. I loved that the property has a beautiful view on the hill but a nice flat spot of lawn for the kids to run on at the lake. We enjoyed taking the paddle boat around the island. Quiet area, very peaceful. Clean comfortable living quarters. Thank you for sharing your cottage!”

“I do not think the pictures actually do this home justice. The views are amazing. There is so much space for kids and adults. The screened in porch was so amazing. The whole family loved swimming and using diving boards. The home was clean and stocked. Very happy with our experience. It was very private and relaxing. 5 ”

“Really great location, and worked out perfectly for our family. A lot of room for everyone both inside and outside. The place looks nicer in person than in the photos. The only issues we ran in to were that garage opener didn’t work, the washing machine wasn’t in the best shape (we wanted to wash a few kids clothing items but opted not to when we opened it), and the wii didn’t work at all (we just really wanted to play guitar hero but not a big deal). Host was responsive to our questionsOverall,……

“A bit overpriced. Issue with small ants for which we bought traps. Home was not as clean as we would expect and bathtub did not seem usable. Two twin beds were not very solid.”

“My family enjoyed the quiet comfort of the Marigold cottage. The open floor plan was nice, and it was great having a large dining table and Keurig coffee maker. Our only issue was sleeping space: The bunk bed room was only big enough for the bed itself so we had to move some furniture around, and we couldn't pull the trundle bed out in the living room without moving the TV stand, so we had to improvise. The fish were biting off the shore and dock, however, so we were happy!”
