“This would probably be better described as a B&B and not hotel: it's a nice place, with a lot of older woodwork and flair on the bottom (restaurant) floor. Arriving after dark, it was a little hard to find, and it wasn't immediately clear to walk around to the back for the rooms. The room was spacious, and showers were nice and hot. The communication from the hotel was all in German, not our first language. I would encourage them to get a translation of their information for those that might……

“FANTASTIC! Higly recommended!! Tiny city, and the "Hotel" dindt seem big or anything, but i got a room, that was almost bigger than my apartment!!, with a kirchen in common area! When i opened my room-door, i got into a 10 meters hallway!!, and yes, that was all mine!! At the end, to the right, it was a huge bedroom!, and to the left, was a huge bathroom! “Vi hadde et helt fantastisk opphold på Schloss Frankenberg. vi var voksne søsken og pappa som dro for å oppleve vin, kultur og små landsbyer. Schloss Frankenberg var en opplevelse i seg selv, med flotte områder rundt. Vi både spiste og drakk godt på hotellet og kan anbefale både vinene deres, og begge restauranene. ”

“While booking a place for a night close to the highway, I failed to notice there’s no reception. You’re supposed to send an ID copy in advance and get a key code. I noticed this only at the door and had to look for a number to call. The guy was helpful though and just recited the code on the phone. The pros of this place are low price (€55 for a single bed) and location at the gate of a quaint little castle town. While there’s no restaurant, there is a decent pizzeria on the shore less than 1km……

“Gästehaus Mönchshof passt zur Idylle des kleinen Ortes. Das Mobiliar meines Zimmers war zwar nicht das modernste allerdings alles schön sauber und für Geschäftsreisende das wohl wichtigste: Ein sehr bequemes Bett. Sehr liebes und nettes Personal. Parken will hier gekonnt sein, da der innenhof nicht für fette SUVs ausgelegt ist. Sauberkeit Top. ”

“ A nice family run hotel in a charming quiet medevial Franconian village along the Main River with vinyards on the hills above. Seems to have been fairly recently renovated. Friendly English speaking staff. We were able to upgrade our room to a much larger room. The busy hotel restaurant is the big draw here and we ate breakfast (included buffet) and dinner there 3 times. Many good quality food choices. We spoke to a young professional couple at the table next to us and they come to this hotel……
