“We celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary at Sabie Star Chalets. The breathtaking surroundings had a tranquil atmosphere and made it extra special for us. The chalet was cosy and a treat to fall asleep with the river in the background. The chalet was extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed. “We've booked a room that was supposed to fit 4 person (that was how it was marked on hotels.com). When we arrived we learned that the room is actually a 2 person room and we had to pay for another room (we bargained for a half price for a second one). The "original" room was nice and clean (although not very new) but the second one had some mold in it and was in need for a renovation. Other than that the staff was nice and we had a good sleep for a one night.”

“Incredible experience! We stayed at mount high after three nights in the bush - and it was wonderful. Will be back for sure- pure relaxation in a wonderful atmosphere. Attention: SUV advisable, because the gravel road on the way is quite challenging.”

“Fabulous river frontage My husband tried unsuccessfully to land some fair sized trout. Cottage very comfortable with fireplace and heaters. Had Sabie trout in the restuarant which was excellent. Perfect base for visiting all the local sites and hikes. Will go back again. Staff discreet and efficient. Sadly, my offer to buy life rights to the cottage as a retirement home was rejected. Ah well….”

“It's simply a unique, luxurious, tranquil & liberating place with impeccable service (thanks to Dirk, Roy, the housekeepers and dining staffs) and a wonderful vibe for romance! The only thing we didn't like was the initial drive up to the property but, beyond that, it was a lovely romantic retreat !”
