“There was some mix-up and I was told that I had reservations for the location that DOES NOT have a pool but it was a block away so the sister hotel with the pool accommodated us. Kudos to the employees for their quick resolution to our issue. Both hotels were decent but this is really a review of hotel Orquideas 1 because that's the location we ended up staying in. “This was a trip to Puerto Cayo. Puerto Cayo is a very very very sleepy little village west of Jipijapa. You have to want to go there. There has to be a reason. Otherwise, most people head to Frailes or up to Manta. If you want quiet and no people -- not cars in the streets or motorcycles making noise, then Puerto Cayo is for you. It's a beautiful and empty 5 mile long beach. Maybe 20 boats out every morning looking for fish. Whales are littler yards away migrating up or down the coast. It's……
