“We enjoyed the deck at El Refugio. The beds were also comfortable. Nice location and view of Ensenada. 4 stars on cleanliness because there were a few really dirty spots (top of glass over stove and top of fridge) where a simple damp sponge would have done wonders. Hot water appliance also failed and was tricky to get hot water. But we were able to contact on-site person and owner and everything resolved to our satisfaction (I was able to take a hot shower). Overall good experience. Owner……

“The hotel is very clean, both inside and outside. The staff were super friendly, always with a smile and a “buenas Dias”. We ate at the on site restaurant several times; the weekend brunch had a wide variety of food: fresh fruit, juices, traditional Mexican breakfast foods, and omelet bar. Gabriel from the restaurant was SO friendly and warm. He explained the Mexican dishes and their flavors. He was a great host, explaining some of the history and traditions of special dishes, like pan muerta,……
