We decided to start a new Thanksgiving tradition and I believe teenagers and adults alike can't wait until next year to come back to your home! “Overall it was pretty good a few minimal issues. I contacted the property manager about the maintenance room and that there was a random light behind the locked door that goes on and off which was kinda weird but no reply. There was also one pillow case in the downstairs bedroom that had what looked like blood on it. There was a Mattress under the daybed which was actually a box spring with a pad on top not conducive to sleeping on. ”

“This quiet, out of the way place was exactly as described and what we were hoping it would be. The pond across the acreage with deer and ducks was fun to watch while sitting on the porch. We enjoyed the birds, the chickens, the frogs, starry night sky - all the things in nature. It was a great place as a jumping off spot to drive to Helvetia and back. Great winding roads that followed babbling creeks. The tiny barn is not really tiny - plenty of room, all the amenities you need and……

“Start with the not positive, the house is located in a valley so winter weather made the roads not so great. The freezer could have been cleaner and lack of local stations made following weather and watching football games tough. The internet is not great.... Other than that, our stay was absolutely amazing! The house was perfect for our needs, warm, loved being on the river, and comfy couches. The little touches took it over the top. “My friends and I spent a week at the Blackberry Cottage in April 2025. The cabin is super comfortable and located to so many great WV destinations. This is the second time we stayed at this particular cabin. Just like the previous time, the cabin was spotless when we arrived and exactly as advertised. The property manager is amazing. When the internet connection dropped, we contacted her and she called within minutes with a solution. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be coming back.”

“The location alone is spectacular, particularly in mid-fall, though the boats are absolutely right that it's a cell phone wasteland. Fortunately the house WiFi can handle all but the most intense gaming loads (bandwidth is great but satellite-level pings) and has plenty of TVs board games, and other pastimes for those seeking a digital detox. The hosts were great with communication, offering to help when needed but also perfectly willing to keep a distance when we wanted to embrace the……

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the peaceful surroundings and the natural beauty that envelops the property. A charming creek runs through the land, providing the perfect soundtrack for morning coffee and evening conversations on the porch.Each night, deer would wander into the backyard, and feeding them became a magical experience that our kids absolutely loved.
