“We have stayed in many VRBO properties and this one rates at the top. We spent eight nights here. It was the perfect location to explore this beautiful area, including the Southern OBX. It is a 15 minute walk to the beautiful waterfront. We golfed twice - the nearby Crystal Coast Country Club was stunning. Wendall and Dawn are wonderful hosts. “Great location and easy walking to historic district. Kitchen had everything you needed. I would suggest an outdoor grill and more space in the backyard (fire pit, patio and high fenced in area for dogs. ”

“If you’re looking for quiet and solitude, along with a homey place to lay your head - Windswept is it. My husband and I took our two miniature dachshunds with us for 7 days and 6 nights. There was a yard for them to run around in, a long board walk through a salt marsh down to a private beach. We caught crabs ( and threw them back), we flew kites, and just rested. One day we did take the Cedar Island ferry to Oacrscoke (a four hour journey - there and back). Be prepared to come with……

“Very comfortable house, loads of space and lots of storage. We really loved the welcome basket filled with goodies! Plenty of towels, blankets, and essentials. The front bedrooms were extemely bright at night, so much so that we spent a good part of our second day shopping for sleep masks. The beds were very comfortable though and there was plenty of room in the closets and dressers. Some of the soap dispensers were almost empty, but there were so many other things provided that made up for it……

Our daughter whose son is stationed at Cherry Point and my husband and I loved the house and really appreciated the quiet neighborhood. “The place was nice and private with a nice scenic view of nature. The only complaint was that the shower door in the main bedroom on first floor wouldn’t stay closed while showering. Otherwise very nice place and affordable.”
