“We loved the historical vibe of this hotel with the amazing way the hotel was established from an old feed mill. Everything was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed! The continental breakfast was par for hotel fare except for the amazing pastries brought in fresh everyday from the bakery up the street. Delicious! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing spot after a beautiful bikebtt try ide on the Root River Trail.”

“This is, indeed, a motel for sportsmen. Our room had a backwoods theme, but was also prepped for folks coming in from a day in the backwoods. I think it’s being upgraded room by room (lots of building supplies blocking a couple of rooms), and kudos to whoever is taking in what seems to be a labor of love. The motel is not actually in Dorchester- don’t let Google misdirect you- and is quite isolated, so bring your own breakfast. But it’s also in the heart of the Driftless, which is a wonderful……

“My experience staying here was truly excellent. At first, I had some hesitation about the absence of on-site customer service for check-in. “We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables Inn. The property was extremely clean and well appointed, which is always my top priority when traveling — and it exceeded my expectations. Before check-in, we appreciated being able to access restrooms and filtered water since we biked the Root River Trail earlier in the day. “For the price and location this motel was good. Only problems were that the entry door was a little hard to close and when the person next door was taking a shower it was quite loud in my room. I would stay there again. ”
