Was not as advertised. Vrbo ad states "This vacation home is located in Callander". Only after booking was made did we learn that the property was in fact some 5/6 miles outside of Callander, with no amenities nearby, except for a pub (next door) - The Byrne - which is advertised as having "great food and drink all……

“Highly recommended beautiful cottage. Photos of property do not do it justice! Cottage tastefully decorated, in a beautiful location and was bigger than expected. Great central location to visit many different places. A big thank you to Neill and Paula who replied quickly and was very accomodating, especially with checking in a day early and getting a plumber in very quickly for a fault that occured during stay.”

“This is our 4th trip to The Retreat and we have had another excellent stay at this wonderful property. The cottage is immaculate and well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The kids loved playing in the garden and the hot tub. The hosts are welcoming and communication with them was easy and straightforward. Can't wait to return!”

Ample space for the family and very convenient for visiting Blairdrummond, Stirling jail and even the Kelpies. Thank you for lovely welcome hamper. The hot tub was an added bonus. “The house was gorgeous and very comfortable. We did have to download an app to get a precise location which was unexpected, but easy enough to use. The beds were very comfortable and the location beautiful. If you are looking for a rural retreat in order to explore the beautiful scenery, it's a wonderful choice! Word of warning: careful with the upstairs windows as flies like to congregate on them!”
