“We loved this cottage hidden behind island shrubs and trees. Both the front and back decks were peacefully enjoyed. The entire property is gated and very private, although close to the village. Kitchen was well equipped. Furniture was comfortable. Very clean and tidy. Outside shower was a dream. Amazingly quiet except for the sound of birds. The only downside was the low toilet as I’ve just had knee replacement. The TV in the living room has sound/volumn issues. Minor cons, considering the……

“We had an excellent time during our stay at the Back House on Ocracoke Island. While it rained for a day and a half of our three day stay, the owner offered us an extra night for free (which, unfortunately, we couldn’t take advantage of). The house was well kept, charming and comfortable. The island itself is well worth checking out.”
