Luxury ocean-front cottage with private beach. ALASTAIR SAWDAY RECOMMENDED

A 1400 sq ft, stone cottage in a stunning location in County Kerry with one acre of grounds leading to the water’s edge, a terrace and private beach.
Seal Rock Cottage has panoramic views of the ocean, islands and mountains. Situated on Rossmore Island it is connected to the famous Ring of Kerry by an ancient stone bridge.
The interior has been designed by Andrew Burch, the much acclaimed Welsh Interior Desgner aind consists of a sitting room with library and open log fire, a garden room with cast iron stove, a surround sound home entertainment system and stunning views over the water. And a dining area, well equipped luxury kitchen, laundry room and cloakroom.
The grounds are sympathetically landscaped retaining many of the existing natural features including a stream, mini-waterfalls, and ocean-side terrace.
Voted one of Ireland's top 10 cottages by Alastair Sawday.

Ireland's Riviera: So called because of it's lush semi-tropical vegetation and micro climate. It's perfect location has attracted celebrity interest with the Riverdance founder, Michael Flatley, wishing to purchase a property on the Island.
Seal Rock Cottage has been inspected and selected for the latest edition of Alastair Sawday's Special Places.
It has also been photographed and selected as the feature property in the magazine Country Homes and Interiors.

Exceeded our expectations

The cottage was everything that we hope for and more. The location is second to none. The pictures of the view. Do not do it justice. A RETURN BACK TO THIS BREATHTAKING GEM!

We knew last year that we would return to Seal Rock Cottage and this year we did just that! The views are absolutely spectacular, and the home is warm and spotless! Everything about this home is perfect! If you are looking for a home that is close to Sneem, on the Ring of Kerry, and near the Berea Peninsula, yet away from the hustle and bustle, this is definitely the place. It has a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, a beautiful stone, wood burning fireplace, and incredible views to watch the magnificent sun sets. Plus the owners are just wonderful and we are thankful to them for sharing their hidden gem with us all! We already booked our return for next year!

Breathtaking Views with a Cozy Touch

Seal Rock Cottage was absolutely beautiful! The check-in process went smoothly, and everything was very neat and clean for our arrival. Instructions in the guest book helped us with turning on the oven and other appliances to make it an easier stay. We enjoyed coffee by the wood fireplace, meals outside on the terrace, and going down to the waterfront to further enjoy the stunning views. It was a great home to wind down in and to plan our adventures for the day in. It was an ideal location to explore Ireland's peninsulas and all its beauty. :) We would recommend this place to all of our friends and family, and we are so thankful for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful home exceptional views

The house is everything described in the booking. The home was extremely well appointed - comfortable beds and crisp linens. The kitchen had everything you needed. The honour bar was a very nice touch - made you feel very welcome. Had a very memorable stay.

A TRUE HIDDEN GEM!!!

What an amazing 2weeks we had at Seal Rock Cottage! It truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we opened the door we knew we had found a gem! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the cottage is a extremely stylish, cozy and spotless. Having use of a fully stocked kitchen with wonderful appliances were very much appreciated since we did make use of cooking dinners quite often. Whether we were sitting outside enjoying the ever changing views or sitting inside by the warmth of a fire, we were quick to realize that we will definitely return next year and for another two weeks! We really enjoyed the privacy, yet the location is easily reached to so many areas that were on our must do list. The owners, Michael and Jane gave us many recommendations for things to check out and were fabulous to work with. Thank you Michael and Jane for sharing your magnificent home with us!

Wonderful Week Away From It All

We had two couples reconnecting after many years. This home is beautiful, well equipped and spacious. The property is truly perfect. Lots of land, amazing views and space for relaxation regardless of the weather or season. We visited in the Fall and made great use of the fireplace, drank loads of wine, cooked wonderful meals and enjoyed peace and quiet. We all highly recommend this home for short or long stays.

I stayed at Seal Rock Cottage for one month and it’s the best thing I ever did for myself. The cottage was beautiful, the location was convenient and the sunsets were amazing. I was able to see much of Ireland as day trips from the cottage - Kenmare, Killarney, Dingle, Waterville, Beara Peninsula, Garnish Island, Valentia Island, the Skelligs and many other places. I took morning walks surrounded by beauty. I saw seals when I paddle boarded. Everything was perfect.

Perfection

This was actually my first experience with VRBO, and I can’t imagine a better experience. The cottage was as clean as can be, instructions were clearly laid out about how all the appliances work, the scenery was beautiful… even the weather cooperated to complete a phenomenal stay! It was so awesome that we only left once to explore the area… we couldn’t imagine any place being better than this!

Wonderful Cottage

The Cottage was very comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The secluded location was perfect, and the view of the water and mountains was amazing. The Cottage is only a 15 minute drive from Sneem and a 25 minute drive from Kenmare. Blarney Castle, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, and the Beara Peninsula are easy day trips from the Cottage. We had a wonderful time exploring the stunning countryside of Southern Ireland, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Rossmore Island. I would certainly recommend this property to others who are considering a visit to Ireland.

Spectacular and Unforgettable

It is difficult to summarize the time spent at Seal Rock Cottage. I must admit, I am a person who is easily impressed by the finer things that I come across in life, but Seal Rock Cottage was so much more than a simple luxury experience. It was like entering a planned theme experience. But it wasn’t… it was natural… organic. From the moment we turned off N70, and crossed the ancient bridge, the experience unfolded. Through a cow pasture, over a knoll, along a single lane dive, to the gates of Seal Rock. The next four days will remain embossed on my mind till the end. Our stay was in the month of December, not what one would think of as a time to tour. To the contrary, it was a spectacular time to visit Rossmore Island. Everyday was different… cloudy… sunny… misty… stormy… and so on… and so on. All that was punctuated by tempest coming ashore one the night. We woke to a daybreak of waves crashing on the shoreline, and a wild frothy bay. Showering with a view through a skylight was like being in an action movie. All of that being said, and I haven’t even mentioned the quality of Seal Rock Cottage itself… and I won’t attempt to do so. Think of luxury, comfort, and cozyness against the backdrop of a spectacular natural setting. I could go on and on… but you have to experience it for yourself.
