“We stayed in a tiny house named Rainbow. Unbelievably clean and efficient. We needed a place to collect ourselves and get ready for big pow wow and come home and relax and sleep in a place as quiet. This place met every single one of our needs and then some.”

“I was in New Mexico for work and I have always been intrigued by the Earthship concept. My stay was great- unfortunately not a lot of star gazing due to weather but watching the storms go along the horizon was impressive.”

The location was really breathtaking with views of the mountains all around!!The weather kind of betrayed us (huge winter storm with snow and rain!) so it was a bit cold but the blankets on the beds were nice and snuggly! We also did not get to see any stars due to cloud coverage.The Earthship did have a pretty significant ant problem, but we just put everything in the fridge and it was okay.Make sure to read the handbook as there are two spouts on the faucets: one for drinking……

“Things that need fixing - 1) all the windows need screens on them with NO rips/tears AND ALL the windows need to be able to be opened (this is IMPERATIVE for a house that relies on ventilation for cooling), 2) the screen door needs to be operational WITH a screen to provide for ventilation, 3) for whatever reason the house is VERY noisy at night ”

“We celebrated Christmas at the Straw Bale House and had a great time. Beds were very comfortable (and we are pretty picky about that) and really neat to experience how well the sun heats the house all on its own during the winter months!Owner Holli was VERY responsive to any questions and even provided a nice welcome basket for us! Convenient to Taos and we spent many days hiking, and enjoying the restaurants in town. The neighborhood gave my 20 children the ability to continue their……
