“We enjoyed five days at this lovely modern cabin in Cavendish. We were delighted with the quiet wooded setting and the aesthetically pleasing cabin where everything from building materials to bedding were chosen with care and an eye for quality. “The house was cute and comfortable. I loved the old feel of it. The location was remote and serene, and we enjoyed the sound of the river across the street while chatting on the porch. We had no problem with making our meals, as the kitchen was sufficiently equipped. Our dog was very comfortable and surprised by a visit from some Guinea hens in the morning. “We spent 2 nights at this cottage In October. Fun fact: my grandparents built this cottage in the 60’s and I spent many summers there in the 80’s and 90’s. I was happy to find it available as a vacation rental! The owner has updated the cottage, but kept its charm. It’s very cozy and well appointed. The screened in back porch is perfect for summer nights or rainy fall days. The location is very serene and quiet. During the summer, swimming and canoeing from the dock is perfect. “This cabin was the perfect little spot for a New Years vacation. It’s easy to get to, has parking on site, and is a short drive to get groceries, some shops in town, and more. We loved the nostalgic feel of the appliances and decor, including the retro Nintendo comforter! We cooked all of our meals while here, the stove and oven worked well and there were plenty of pots, pans, etc. The fireplace was easy to use and warmed the entire place well, even during a snowstorm. “Cabin was very clean with that back woods rustic appeal. Great place to get away and be one with nature. ”

“Treacherous path from carbto cabin. Frogs come in through hole in bathroom floor. Place was filthy and sand on everything. Screens do not fit windows, so bugs stream in. The floor is so sloped its difficult to walk. The uneven decking is dangerous. Horrible!”
