“The place was very new, clean, comfortable, quiet & relaxing. Great location, too. Basically right next to the north entrance of Itasca State Park where we spent our time. After a long day of exploring & hiking, we looked forward to relaxing back at our room, sleeping in comfortable beds with A/C & running water. To us it was the best way to go “camping”. “Booked the property only a week before our visit. Super convenient access to the north entrance of Itasca State park.Some items of note: the bathroom door latch did not latch. The pillows kept falling down in the space under the headboard. The water pressure in the shower was only so-so at best. The temperature was very good. Lots of space in the unit - girlfriend suggested a small chest of drawers to unpack stuff into. We did have great interaction with Christine (owner) at the next door ice……

“This lovely little motel was exactly what we needed, a home base while we explored & hiked, visited w friendly locals & ate great walleye. Christine was quick & easy to communicate with, and our room was squeaky clean!”

“Was a beautiful place. Very accommodating and had everything you needed and then some. Wished we could have stayed longer. Property was extremely clean, beach and dock made for nice sunset viewing. Plenty of wood for fire pit on beach. The directions to the property were spot on. I'm seriously considering renting it out next summer again!! “We enjoy all of the features of this place and the privacy. Great view of lake, plenty of space and special touches to welcome guests. Had a nice bonfire one night (dry wood is provided). Plenty of room with more than one level for guest. Love the outdoor balcony too.”

“Love this little cabin -- just close enough to Park Rapids, yet far enough out to enjoy the peace of being up north. Perfect size with the two bedrooms, and roomy bathroom. Love having the laundry available also. My only suggestion would be to have a few lamps (living room and in each bedroom) so you don't have to rely on just the overhead lighting. But we really do love this place -- did you notice it has the biggest kitchen island in the history of up north cabins?? LOVE!”

“Our family (all adults 18) had a wonderful time at this Fishhook Lake home which was impeccably clean and spaciously comfortable! The home provided all the amenities needed for a restful stay. We especially enjoyed the well-maintained pontoon for time on the lake and the private back porch complete with lots of seating and a fire table. Located in an area near many fun things to do: Itasca State Park, Forestridge Winery, etc. Communication with the host was excellent and the lovely fruit……

“The house is extremely comfortable, with good-sized bedrooms, comfortable seating, and a well-stocked kitchen. The hosts are friendly and very responsive. The house is located in a wooded area close to Itasca State Park and Park Rapids -- a wonderful location. The only suggestion our group has was that the hosts remove the plug-in fragrances throughout the house before guests arrive since some people have fragrance sensitivities (we unplugged them and that took care of the issue). “The peace and quite was needed. Had a fire one evening while we looked at every star in the sky. Spent our days in Itasca on the water and went for dinner in Park Rapids. Overall awesome location and far better then tent camping. ”

“Overall the trip was good. We had some minor issues with the thermostat, kept resetting to 60 degrees at night and getting really cold. Richelle was notified a couple times and was finally able to correct the problem. Property was nice. Nice location for fishing and snowmobiling. ”

“Large rooms allowed for different activities at the same time. Large kitchen and counter spaced helped with storage and easy preparation of meals. We had a group of 22 any there was plenty of room for all.”

“Drop dead gorgeous lake without the jammed, crowded lake houses so many other Minnesota lakes offer. Unique island location. The sauna was immensely popular with everyone. Special feeling to float in the lake at night after the sauna experience. Armada of toys and games kept the young ones engaged. Kayaks and paddle boards. Two fridges were ever so helpful when you have a party of 12 as we did. Communication with the host was lightning-fast and friendly. The island is a magnet for fish. Overall,……

“Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay here. The kids loved sitting around the bonfire and making s’mores. Our puppy loved running around inside the fenced area and joining us on our family trip. The location of this home was convenient for visiting Itasca State Park. The only thing we found disappointing was that the dock was already pulled in. Our boys were looking forward to being able to fish off the dock. The owners were very communicative and shared with us a location near by for fishing.……
