“We came looking for a camping spot for the solar eclipse. Our site was tucked away at the end of a huge field on a small peninsula with a running river nearby. The camping was amazing, the ground was nice and soft for our tents and we could build the campfire up with an endless supply of firewood. The stars were on full display as there wasnt much light pollution in this area. Taking a splash in the fast and cool river was a highlight. “Excellent place to stay! Tucked into the woods in a clearing of trees with large lawns and a beautiful new sun deck. Very gracious and friendly owners, super friendly dogs. Cleaner than most major better hotels chains that I've stayed at. Blissfully quiet even though they welcome ATV's. I have allergies and asthma, had no issues even though it's a pet friendly property. “Great location, walk one block to access the beach! Lots to do and places to eat within walking distance. The amusement park is only open on weekends. Room was as advertised. Only issue was checking in - I did not receive necessary information because I booked online, so be sure to call to confirm the details before you arrive. “My partner and I needed a place to camp for the total eclipse and came across Ryan's listing. Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. He's such a nice, accommodating host. Taking the time to show us the property and delivering firewood to our site. The land is gorgeous! Great stargazing and sunsets. “If you are looking for a place with proximity to fishing or to nature, this is a great location. Right across the street was access to a path that led to the river where you can fish. As well there was a lovely mile long hiking path along the river. Three state parks that are on Lake Ontario are less than 25 minutes drive away. Loved all three and two them have beaches. “We enjoyed our stay. The host was awesome and even called to see if we had any questions before our stay. The only thing that caught us off guard was there is not central AC, it was two window units. Just something to know incase you are like us and like a cool/cold house.
