“My wife and I stayed for two nights in March. Arrival and check in was incredibly simple with clear instructions and door code entry. The apartment is up a somewhat steep staircase, but manageable. I only really struggled with it when carrying a large, heavy cooler. The unit itself is very clean and well laid out. Plenty of space for two. The heater kept the space good and warm on a weekend where temps hovered around the freezing mark each day. The bathroom sink is a bit small and tight on……

“It’s the small touches and fulfillment of preferences that make a good rental experience, and this one missed the mark for us. The bathroom featured a leaky shower stall, paper thin towels, and the toilet was not the cleanest. The Keurig was moldy and we cleaned it, but then thought better of it and went out to get coffee instead. ”

“Cozy place with modern amenities and a fantastic view. The coffee and tea bar is wonderful and thoughtfully prepared. The kitchen is perfectly stocked and fun to cook in. The best part was lounging on the couch, looking at the penobscot narrows, while enjoying the peaceful quiet with my partner while we knitted. Thank you for the relaxing vacation.”

Great location along our drive up/down the coast of Maine! Lisa was quick to respond to questions about our stay. We loved every minute we spent here and would definitely stay there again!”

“We visited the Acadia / Bar Harbor area. Orland was approximately 40 minutes from that area. The apartment was very clean & comfortable, we had everything we needed for our weekend stay. It’s located on a small lake, and is surrounded by lots of trees. ”

“Just as-advertised. A somewhat-quirky (though quaint and cozy) space above the flower shop on a local flower farm. My kids loved seeing/meeting the animals, which was a nice perk. Kitchen could have used a few more basics (toaster or baking tray? coffee machine?), but felt "on theme" given the farmhouse feel. Stacy was delightful, and very responsive. The space is private enough (you can hear flower-shop "business" during the day coming up, but no interference in the private space, and after……

“The Hidden Retreat was the perfect place to stay! It was just me and my husband, and Wendy has made it very comfortable. The area is quiet and relaxing, perfect for after spending a day at Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park. She was a great host and had all the amenities you would need. I would highly recommend a stay at Hidden Retreat!”
