“Very nice updated rooms”

“This hotel and the whole town of Mason City was a happy surprise. The property has been beautifully, painstakingly maintained/restored with nearly every detail impeccably Frank Lloyd Wright. (that also means there are fewer outlets, etc. than you'd expect in a modern build.) Bed was comfy, staff was very accommodating, good dining options within walking distance, nice balcony overlooking the park, so bring a bottle of wine. Kudos to the folks who made this such a great and authentic-feeling……

“The only thing was that the pancake machine was not dialed in so they were under done and gummy. Fresh fruit was a welcome addition and the size of the milk was great not having to pour it out of a pitcher was nice too. Staff was friendly and courteous. ”

“Although the hotel is a basic one, when we travel we judge the hotels not only by the rooms and building, but the temperature of the pool. This hotel was just perfect. I also liked the fact that we had until noon to check out so we could swim in the morning before leaving.”

“Check in was easy. Location was key for this stay! We came to town to see a concert at the Surf Ballroom. The place was clean and stocked with the basic needs for our stay. We were able to easily walk to the surf within 5 minutes. The place was on the cozy side, but there was only 3 of us, so it fit our needs. The place was nicely decorated and very clean. We would stay again!”
