“We loved this cabin the moment we walked in the door! The cabin is well appointed, cozy, and inviting. The glass-fronted wood stove, radiant heat floors, walk-in shower with a forest view, comfortable bed (again with forest view), and the river trail were all highlights. We can't wait to return!”

“Very unique. It's a step back in time. Don't expect modern resort but you will get friendly authentic service provided by local people who bend over backwards to fulfill your needs and interests. Dufur is a very small old rural historical town in, what some would call, the middle of nowhere. If you want seclusion and enjoy country walks or bike rides and meeting really interesting people the Balch Hotel is for you as it was for us. The people really are fantastic. “The cabin had some quirks about. It must’ve been on an ant hill, as there was an extreme issue with ants. Cleanliness was less than desirable cobwebs everywhere dirty fan, not kept horribly as your toilets and areas were clean, but the overall cleanliness of the place was not desirable.”

“We enjoyed our time at the Sundance Cottage. There was plenty of space for our family of four to spread out and my son enjoyed having his own space. My husband and I had to work while our daughter trained up the road at Timberline. The Wi-Fi and dining area allowed us to work remotely and we were about 20 minutes to Timberline. Full kitchen and laundry was a bonus. The cottage was clean and easy to get to. Preferred the Safeway for grocercies a little further up the road. The hosts were……
