“Jan & Jim our hosts were wonderful. The accommodations were roomy & comfortable. Grasmere is a wonderful place to stay in the Lake District and Beck Allens is nicely located in Grasmere. Enjoyed hearing the sound of the nearby creek from our guest house.”

“A pleasant hotel but not really "luxury" as they claim. No air conditioning, just a small, noisy desk fan. Probably not an issue most of the year, to be fair, as it was unseasonably hot this week. Double bed with a poor mattress that transferred all movement of one partner to the other. Tap in the wash basin too close to the basin; I've seen this repeatedly in hotel rooms and, to be fair, some home, and I'll never understand how the proprietors and their plumber can't figure out what size……

“Great location, very clean and had all amenities we needed for our stay.”

“Lovely guest house located more or less centrally between the town centre and lake Windemere with just a few minutes walk to either. The standard of accommodation was first class and the service equally as good. We were in a standard double room on the second floor with Velux windows allowing great views to the front. The road at the front of the guest house is busy and noisy at times particularly with the windows open. ”

“had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes”
