“Just wow! This place was perfect. Great location just outside of Gettysburg, surrounded by beautiful Orchards, and only minutes away from the historic Cashtown Inn. The home was cozy and had all the amenities we needed, and then some. I actually found myself wishing we had more time to spend at the house. We loved sitting on the patio and looking at the pond. We planned to use the fire pit, but unfortunately, the weather was just too windy while we were there. If I find myself coming back to……

“We came to visit Gettysburg and Amish Country and were excited to learn that while we had spent much time learning about the Civil War, Lee had actually come to visit the very house we stayed at and is detailed in a book located at the property called “A River to Cross”. Before we left we took a picture with our pup on “Lee’s rock” where he rested while the horses drank from a spring nearby and his troops had tea and recharged at the property. “This property is amazing! It is incredibly beautiful. The pictures make it look a little old-fashioned and dark but when you go there that is not the case. It is beautifully historic. The grounds are amazing. The summer kitchen just makes you yarn for colonial times. It was an amazing house and property to stay on for my daughter‘s graduation from Dickinson College. ”

“This old farm house was just as promised. Rustic but clean and comfortable. My teens enjoyed hanging by the pond or exploring the battlefield locations nearby. The house was a short drive to everything Gettysburg related. The host had notebooks available showing nearby restaurants and things to do. We had a great dinner at one of the restaurants we found in the book. Highly recommend this home for families interested in Gettysburg. ”
