“We were in the area to do some family history research. Ariano Irpino was an excellent base, and Hotel Biffy was a great place to lay down our heads at the end of the day. “This hotel was not my first choice. It was the only place with accommodation during the period of my visit. Expedia and the hotel web site state check-in is at or after 4:30PM. When we arrived, there was no staff on site. We had to call and wait for people to arrive to check us in. The only time there was "front desk" staff was when someone telephoned for them. “This property is not only beautiful but also spotlessly clean. Te owner Luisa met us with the key and was very gracious. When she found out that I was in the area doing family research she immediately called her son to take us to the office and apply for the documents while the office was open. “Ok, you have to visit this place!!! Its a renovated 1921 winery manor house on a hill in the country! Our warm and welcoming host, Antonio used a translation app to speak ti us. Because the property is in the middle of nowhere i asked about dunner, he then asked about our dietary requirements etc. when we arrived he said dinner would be st 8. Fair enough, when we came down at 8 he had an un-corked breathing bottle of his red wine , and a HUGE spread of Anti-pasto. Crusty fresh bread, 5 or so hot……
